Contemporary, inviting and warm, The Brahma Kumaris headquarters and Five Dock Centre offers weekly programs that facilitate self-development and personal change.  More and more,  it’s becoming a place where people want to be!

During opening hours you are welcome to drop in and enjoy the calm of our meditation room or wander through our bookstore where you will find inspiring books, CDs, meditation and self-development aids, etc.  There is always someone on hand to help with queries you might have.

The Brahma Kumaris’ core curriculum courses in Raja Yoga Meditation are run on a regular basis. We also have weekly classes, workshops, talks, and regular meditation sessions.  A number of our courses and talks are offered in languages besides English.  Programs for children are also run from time to time.

Raja Yoga Meditation Course by Appointment

Timings tailored to your life. You can book in here and we will find one of our meditation tutors whose availability matches yours. The course content is the same as the BK Meditation Introductory Course (four 90 minute sessions). Courses by appointment are available in English, Gujarati, Hindi, Nepalese, Tamil and Thai.

The Team

Christine Donehue

Tutor

Christine has practised and taught meditation with The Brahma Kumaris for over thirty years. She has lived in a number of Brahma Kumaris Centres in Australia and runs the National Coordinating Office where she is personal assistant to both the Regional and National Coordinators. Well known for her creativity, Christine can always be counted on to come up with some creative and fun activity for a retreat or workshop. She has won a number of prizes for her exquisite quilling art work.

Dan Haworth

Tutor

Dan has lived in Brahma Kumaris Centres in both New Zealand and Australia. For 10 years he lived at The Brahma Kumaris Peninsular Retreat Centre just out of Melbourne where he oversaw catering and kitchen operations, whilst also working part-time as a lawyer. Today he volunteers full-time at our Centre in Five Dock. Teaching people about the practical benefits of Brahma Kumaris' Raja Yoga Meditation has been a significant part of Dan’s life for the past 15 years.

Priti Prapanpongchai

Tutor

Priti is a caring, peace loving, light and easy-going soul. She is the very capable force behind the organisation and management of the catering and kitchen operations at Five Dock. Priti has practised and taught meditation for over 10 years. She works full-time as a travel consultant and in her spare time enjoys hatha Yoga and walking with her friends. With her patience and good feelings for others, her purpose in life is to continue volunteering, teaching meditation and helping to create a harmonious world.

Sathesh Gega

Tutor

Sathesh came into contact with The Brahma Kumaris in Malaysia more than 25 years ago with his family from Sri Lanka. Much of his professional life has been in IT. Sathesh is a very light and happy soul and loves to make people laugh. After serving in our Peninsula Retreat Centre for many years, he now volunteers full-time in our IT Department based in Five Dock.

Margaret Parker

Tutor

Margaret is a very happy personality. You will often find her on Reception where she is more than happy to engage in conversation and help you with any enquiries you might have. She is responsible for all room bookings, and if you attend our Thursday evening 'Spirituality Matters' talks, you will also meet her there as she often introduces the speaker. Margaret has practised and taught meditation with The Brahma Kumaris for over 20 years. She is happily retired and likes walking and listening to music.
