Importance of Spirituality in childhood (5-12 years)
Childhood has been the foundation of any human being’s life journey, where values, personality, attitudes and beliefs are generated, that are embedded in adulthood. Children learn from their relationships, environment and interactions within their immediate system as Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory suggests. The educational approach from Australian curriculum advises teachers and educators to implement holistic approach (recognizing the connectedness of body, mind and spirit) when teaching and providing learning experiences for each individual child. Spirituality is one of the foundation aspects to nurture each child’s wellbeing of inner self.
